Felix Deufel

Felix Deufel is (co-) founder of the Center for Immersive Media Art, Music and Technology (ZiMMT) in Leipzig. ZiMMT was born out of Deufel's fascination with spatial sound technologies and in response to a lack of opportunities to engage with them artistically.
Today, it forms a vibrant space for productions, experiments and public presentations. It is also a pivotal platform for the promotion of interdisciplinary
collaboration and innovation in the field of immersive media art and technology.
In 2023, ZiMMT initiated the Spatial audio Netwrok Germany (SANG), in 2024 the Spatial Audio Network Europe (SANE) as a starting point to connect venues with 3D audio infrastructure across Europe and work on compatibility.
Deufel is also founder of Not a Number Studio, which specializes in 3D audio productions and is currently dedicated to the development of a creative 3D audio software tool.
Deufel conducts artist workshops at institutes, universities and festivals worldwide, where he shares his expertise in field recording
and introduces creative professionals to spatial audio technologies.
