NEW VISIONS For Quantum Computer Music

What does quantum computing have to do with music? Starting with the basic concepts powering the race for quantum computing, Moth Quantum CTO Spencer Topel will provide a comprehensive introduction to how quantum computers will impact every aspect of our creative work as artists and music professionals, and the historical connections to how the birth of computer music enabled modern day computing through Max Matthews (then at Bell Labs) , and others.

From there this session will explore some of the exciting tools emerging from Moth Quantum, which are already being used by cutting-edge composers, sound designers, and music supervisors. In particular the talk will highlight the Actias quantum synthesizer, and a new approach to AI called Quantum Generative AI.

The talk will then delve into some of the advantages these technologies will bring, namely new kinds of faster and more adaptive creative generation tools for creators, and importantly utilization of smaller copyright-safe datasets for training AI models across creative industries at large.
