CHIEF OF STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS | REACTIONAL MUSIC
Luke is Chief of Strategic Partnerships for Reactional Music, leading their conversations with external developers and partners. Reactional offers cutting-edge musical interactivity in a game engine straight out of the box, and opens up in-game personalisation of music - that scales.
The company has leadership from Kelly Sumner (from Take Two when it launched Rockstar Games & Grand Theft Auto to Red Octane for Guitar Hero), along with a team from EA, Spotify & Epic Games. It has powerful implications for composition and live musical performance in any game engine-driven experience
A former musician, Ritchie has 25 years of experience in tech. Alongside Reactional, most recently he has worked for the San Francisco Symphony as Creative Technology Advisor (22-24), and before that with the Philharmonia Orchestra (2014-2021) as Digital Director, bringing Reactional's technology into a partnership with Royal Shakespeare Company, Epic Games, Magic Leap, Intel, Marshmallow Laser Feast, Punchdrunk and others for their last flagship project, Dream, between 2019-2021.
At both the SF Symphony and the Philharmonia, Luke worked directly with Music Director Esa-Pekka Salonen to devise new artistic projects that used technology to connect the orchestras with new audiences beyond the concert hall: from iPad apps to interactive web documentaries, from its large-scale installations to touring musical trucks, from its extensive video collection through to its growing portfolio of immersive work. The Philharmonia began working in VR in early 2015 and created four films, three of which were directed by Ritchie.
