At NEW VISIONS For Music & Sound, we are dedicated to highlighting music tech startups that have the potential to shape the future of music.
We believe that startups that are pushing the boundaries of how we create, experience, distribute, promote or enjoy music deserve to be seen, heard, and experienced.
The Startup Showcase Stage at NEW VISIONS For Music & Sound is a platform designed to spotlight forward-thinking solutions for the music ecosystem.
While usually conferences sometimes provide a stage for startups to pitch their business model in 5 minutes or so, we offer entrepreneurs an opportunity to present their innovation at work on a stage, entirely dedicated to music tech innovation.
Each of the startups below will deliver a 20-minute live demonstration of their product or service, showing its impact, usability, the problem it solves and why it could be a game-changer for music or the music industry.

bĂ¼ene is a marketplace for creators where fans can watch live music concerts and connect with their stars for real.
We aim to be the destination for live music content in the internet, make available thousands of concerts that aren't available currently, we run a transaction-based business model, and we give creators the tools and services from day one to monetize their content on their terms.

Djoid is a music curation platform designed for DJs. With Djoid, focus shifts from tedious music organization tasks to creative performance planning. It’s the essential tool every DJ is craving to tell stories with their music.
Ectoplastic
We specialise in developing new forms of creative expression, with a particular focus on music and sound. Our philosophy is that creativity is a network and a shared process. To this end, we develop and test immersive technologies in an open-minded framework, using them in artistic practice. At the centre of our work is Mazetools, a cross-platform software core from which we build apps for discovering music through experimentation. These combine generative design with playful forms of interaction, from multi-touch to body movements and VR.

We are dedicated to transforming the landscape of collaborative work by embedding security at its core. We provide a secure sharing and collaboration service that immutably documents and verifies intellectual property, protecting ownership rights and maintaining the integrity of original work.
Halbe Stunde
Halbestunde is building different products around our core technology for scanning sheet music.
We have an app that supports music students in learning their preferred sheet music, which is already successfully on the market. We also just released new software for music producers that allows them to quickly turn their sheet music into MIDI and use it in their DAW. On top of that, we offer to white-label our solution as an API.
iTO
iTO is an innovative application designed for mobile devices that enhances the functionality of audio and video recording. By allowing users to make synchronized recordings alongside existing digital content, iTO may streamline the process of content creation, education, and more.

nound is a new type of learning platform that offers pinpoint microlearning for music creators. nound offers a counter-concept to the "information overload" on the internet and provides users with the right learning input in seconds. nound utilise a smart combination of expert knowledge, graph technology and generative AI.
This combination makes it possible to recognise and analyse high-quality content on the web and to play it out precisely, broken down into short learning bits. The learning bits can be used individually or combined into modular learning units.

This allows musicians to create music that adapts note by note in realtime, much as lighting and physics has adapted in realtime in game engines for decades, moving away from hard-coded loops.
The company has leadership from Kelly Sumner (from Take Two when it launched Rockstar Games & Grand Theft Auto to Red Octane for Guitar Hero), along with a team from EA, Spotify & Epic Games. It has powerful implications for composition and live musical performance in any game engine-driven experience, from games to immersive through to live shows.

Sonic Moves
Sonic Moves is a young German startup with the vision to make body-interactive sound experiences accessible for everyone. We want to empower artists with a new dimension for expression without the need for coding and complex technical setups. By bringing this medium to everyday mobile devices, these experiences should be accessible for everyone. We think that there are many enjoyable and useful applications for body-interactive audio, such as art, entertainment, excercise andphysiotherapy.
Sonic Moves was founded early 2024 in in Leipzig, Saxony. The founders, Marc-André Weibezahn and Jakob Gruhl, had worked on interactive audio software together before, and decided to start a company together to push the Sonic Moves project forward. With their office located at the home of ZiMMT, they are embedded in an ecosystem of sound enthusiasts and (sound) artists. The company is in a very early stage and has released its software so far as beta versions

We empower creatives on both sides of the deal. We have no barriers for entry allowing all who work in music and visual production to have the same access to the best tools available. We make the world of sync licensing a lot simpler and facilitate the building of networks.

UpBeat Studio is a forward-thinking music technology company dedicated to modernising how we learn and practice music. We envision a world where everyone can experience the joy of playing an instrument, and we are actively working to build that future.
Our innovative tools are designed to make learning and practicing music accessible and enjoyable for all. We had the honor to win the Latin Grammy award for our Drumap app, recognising its potential to preserve and promote musical knowledge.
Our second tool, Drum Coach, is on its way to becoming the premier digital learning platform for drummers, providing personalised practice routines tailored to each user's level and needs.

ABOUT MUSIC TECH EUROPE ACADEMY
Music Tech Europe Academy is a pan-european acceleration scheme for music-tech innovators, startups, entrepreneurs and SMEs.
MTE Academy is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of The European Union and it is coordinated by Music Innovation Hub, in partnership with Media Deals, Technoport, Meso Events and Barcelona Music Tech Hub.
MTE Academy aims to:
+ Create bridges between music-tech professionals, market players and investors, eventually leading to long-term relationships for smart and strategic business opportunities.
+ Foster European entrepreneurship by strengthening the ecosystem of music-tech innovators in Europe and creating a level playing field between tech-savvy entrepreneurs, artists and the music industry.
+ Give equal opportunities to music-tech companies and professionals coming from diverse background and geographical areas to develop and advance their business and careers by making it easier to raise funds and have their products piloted at scale
